Is a stranger who stalks your stalker a friend or your worst enemy?

Rachel Pendelton is determined to break from her small town past and stake out a new life for herself with a dream job in the big city. But hard work and determination are no match for whoever is working against her. When anonymous gifts show up, she’s flattered. When they appear in her locked apartment, she starts worrying. What can she do when everyone she turns to for help looks suspicious?
What she doesn’t know is that a game has begun. A game with rules as baffling as they are deadly. A game that will pit her against the criminally insane. And only one can finish alive.

Guest Post by S.L. Pierce & Maren Kaye

Thanks to Deena Remiel for letting us blog here today. Who are we? We are S.L. Pierce and Maren Kaye, co-writers of the new Psychological Thriller, The Devil’s Game. While I’d love to just go on about the book, I thought instead we could play a game of Stalker or Admirer?* This is the question our main character, Rachel Pendleton must ask herself. The choices are Admirer, Stalkmirer (weirder than admirer but not creepy enough to be a stalker), Stalker, Psycho Stalker. Let’s Begin:

1) Flowers delivered to your workplace.

OK, that’s an easy one. Admirer. Probably a co-worker or friend who knows where you work.

2) Flowers at the door of your apartment in a security building.

Little harder. You were probably temped to say stalker but not quite. Stalkmirer. He probably waited outside your building looking for a chance to slip in unnoticed.

3) Flowers in your locked apartment.

Definite stalker. Buy a German Shepard, change the locks.

4) Flowers in your locked apartment that showed up while you were sleeping.

Psycho stalker. Move immediately.

Should we try another?

1) A love note in your email

Just an admirer and a lazy one at that. Google it – I’m sure he copied and pasted.

2) A love note at your desk at work

If it turns out to be from a coworker he’s an admirer. If it’s not a coworker it’s a stalkmirer. I mean showing up at your work secretly? Little creepy.

3) A love note written on a picture of you taken from afar

Okay if you have any question about this being a stalker you need to reevaluate your love life! It’s really not a sign of his deep commitment.

4) A love note written on a picture of you held on the inside of your door with a knife from your kitchen.

It should go without saying, right?

You get the idea. You are intrigued by the idea of our book, The Devil’s Game, but thinking ‘What makes this book different from other stalker books?” The answer lies in this one question:

What if your stalker had a stalker?
