New Year, New Resolve

The beginning of a new year is dreaded by some and heralded by others. Since I’ve always been an optimist and an idealist, I greet each new year with joyful anticipation. I am also like many who fail to realize those nasty little resolutions we make year after year! But, I am not deterred from making more! Nope. I’ve learned that the key to success is to make attainable goals and know the steps it takes to achieve those goals.  So here are this year’s resolutions. I am confident that by this time next year, I’ll be grinning madly because I will have achieved each and every one of them.

 My 2012 Resolutions

1. I resolve to lose at least 15 pounds by April. I will accomplish this by exercising 3 times a week and altering my diet to a healthier one.

2. I resolve to create a better work schedule that gives me optimal time for promotion and writing of new material, AND STICK TO IT.

3. I resolve to finish Book 3 by mid-January and start Book 4.

4. I resolve to stay strong and vigilant as a parent of a preteen and a teenager.

    I stopped calling them resolutions and started calling them Christmas Gifts to Myself. This will be my third year, and the previous gifts have all been fulfilled. A change in perspective made all the difference for me.

      Oh Judy! I love that idea! I should have thought of that, too, since I call weekends 2-day holidays. LOL

  2. I wish to attain a constant weight loss to achieve a 100 lb loss by New Year’s of next year. By monitoring my food intake and exercizing 2 x a week….. and snacking on carrots, celery, and fruit instead of chips, cookies, and junk food.

      Oh Wendy, you just mentioned my favorite things to munch on. And i don’t mean the carrots and celery! LOL I will be doing the same exchange. Good luck to us both! 😀
