I’M FLIRTY AND I KNOW IT…

I remember my flirty-girl days. There was a time, my college years up to BC (before children), that I had a flirty figure. I could dance and have the boys drooling at my feet.  A time when my body could back up the promise in my eyes. Ah, but I wax nostalgic.

I certainly WASN’T born to flirt. It was college when the dorky girl changed into a desirable young lady. I exercised my flirtability  on many a college prep and had a blast. Dancing was the big thing back then, so yes, I flirted with the boys through rockin’ 80’s dance music.

LMFAO’s song, “I’m Sexy and I Know It” describes the dance scene back then. Dance moves were all about hips, butt, and sexy arms. Then, getting close to who you’re dancing with. Wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle, wiggle! Yeah!

Well, I met my husband  right out of college and guess what? He loved to dance! And he did it well. So we always had a great time dating and still do whenever there’s an affair to go to and there’s music.  We flirt with each other across the dance floor and dance, oh so close.

Dancing was my way to flirt. But the flirt that worked for Raphael and Serena, of RELIC, was suggestive remarks. Check this out…

Relic (The Brethren Series)“I’ve got a tip for you. Life is uncertain…eat dessert first.” While he sat down next to her, she quickly snatched up the chocolate chip cookie and took a big bite, moaning in ecstasy. “Oh Raphael, you’ve got to have some.”

To find out RAPHAEL’S reaction, click on the cover of RELIC and purchase your copy today  for its bargain price of only $3.99!

**I dance. How do YOU get YOUR flirt on? Tell me below, and you’re in the running for a signed paperback copy of PICTURE PERFECT, my romantic suspense short.**

  2. Victoria Zumbrum says:

I am honestly not much of a flirt. I am more quiet and shy and keep to myself. I would love to read this book. Please enter me in contest. Tore923@aol.com

    1. deenaremiel says:

Thanks for sharing, Victoria! I really am rather shy, too. But when I hear music, it transforms me. 🙂

  3. Sara Daniel says:

I’m way too introverted to be a flirt and way too uncoordinated to dance. Sigh. But I definitely like to eat my dessert first, so Raphael is my kind of man!

    1. deenaremiel says:

LOL! My family ate dessert for dinner first when my first book came out in paperback. 🙂

  4. Angie Adair says:

  6. Yadira A. says:

I’m not a big flirt either:( I try to dress somewhat flirty, but it’s just not in my personality.

    yadkny@hotmail.com

    1. deenaremiel says:

You gotta stay true to yourself, Yadira. THAT is JUST as attractive, if not MORE. 😉

  7. Eye contact and lots of it. That’s my weapon of choice. Laughing helps, too.

    1. deenaremiel says:

So many people say that they are attracted to people with a great sense of humor. But hearing their laughter can either set your heart racing for them or your feet to get away! lol

  8. Tina B says:

That post is too funny. I have to admit that I don’t flirt much anymore except occasionally with my hubby. We actually met at a work Christmas party on the dance floor. He asked me to dance and we flirted for a bit that night and whenever we saw each other for the next 2 years until we started dating. We always went dancing on dates, so I guess that was our form of flirting for a long time. I just smile at him now or wrestle/attack him as flirting.

    1. Deena Remiel says:

Thanks, Tina! lol A good wrestling tackle is a great way to capture sensual moments!

      1. Tina B says:

I agree except when the 2 year gets in the middle or smacks daddy in the face. LOL!

  9. I have no flirting skills, been a mother too long, don’t remember how. I spent many years as a bartender and watched the flirting skills of all my patons and was amazed at how bold they get as the night goes on. Too funny sometimes.

And then comes…. the walk of shame at the dawning of the day! LOL At least on college campuses… Hahaha

  10. Shadow says:

I dont really have a flirty skill. Im more shy and quiet. And i cant dance to save my life. I have two left feet and absolutely no rhythm. lol Though if i go anywhere with my mom and she notices a guy, shes the first to tell him thats hes hot and im single. OMG! lol I usually blush and walk away. So i guess you could say in some instances, my mom does the flirting for me. :/ Thanks for sharing! Have a wonderful weekend!

thank you for the chance at such a great giveaway. the book’s cover is beautiful and it sound wonderful, i would love to have it. i can hardly wait to see what happens just based on the cover alone.
i follow via GFC/Facebook under the name tammy ramey, email is : trvlagnt1t at yahoo dot com
and twitter is under the name : wyndwhisper.

as far as my flirting skills go, they don’t exist. i have PSTD and severe anxiety so i rarely leave my home right now and before i developed the anxiety i decided after my 2nd divorce and a hysterctomy that i needed to take some time alone for me without the pressure of another person’s needs. that was in 1999. i have been celebate ever since. i have gone on a few dates but when they find out that there will be no sex until it is a real friendship and commited relationship they tend to bail. but that’s okay because i like myself and i don’t mind being alone, i have lots of family and friends.

Wyndwhisper, I totally get where you’re coming from and so appreciate you sharing your story with us. 🙂 Living with PTSD can’t be easy, so I hope you keep on reading my books. No matter what happens in them, my characters learn and change, overcome the odds, and come out winners in th end. In fact, the book I’m about to submit to my publisher has a main character with PTSD as well. Bad things happen to good people, my friend. I’m so glad you have friends around you!

  12. April London says:

Good morning! Love this post! Being southern… flirting is like breathing around here. It’s just part of the lifestyle! Bat an eyelash, cock an eyebrow, toss out a giggle and pretend you’re interested in whatever nonsense … I mean intriguing thing they are talking about! *giggles* My dancing skills rival that of Carlton (from the Fresh Prince) and Urkel (Family matters) …. soooo….. 😉

    1. deenaremiel says:

Why April, sugah, I do believe you could write many a blog post on the Southern charm of the ladies! *bats eyes and giggles lightly* 😉

  13. Cheryl Lynne says:

My flirting skills involve eye contact and a shy smile. Thanks for the great giveaway! cheryllynne(at)rocketmail(dot)com

    1. deenaremiel says:

  14. Barbara says:

I have a wicked sense of humor and an easy going way about myself that make folks feel comfortable talking to me…about virtually anything. So, I don’t know that you can call this a flirting skill, but getting a guy to feel at ease enough to open up and talk to and getting him to laugh…always felt pretty special.

    1. deenaremiel says:
